  1. This is now the third public beta-test release of MIDAS
  2. Module Player. Please check it out and tell us what you think,
  3. but _please_ read the documentation first.

  5. This release finally fixes the Sound Blaster Pro support. The
  6. first version did not work with SB Pro at all, and in the second
  7. version only mono output worked. The Sound Blaster Sound Device
  8. has now been tested to fully work with SB Pro. SB 16 support,
  9. however, is still fully untested, but believed to work, as SB
  10. 16 is much simpler to program than SB Pro.

  12. MIDAS Sound System is also now available. Read MIDAS.TXT for
  13. more information about MIDAS Sound System.

  15. Just FYI, here is some miscellaneous information: (you'd be
  16. better of by reading MIDP.DOC though)

  18. Who is S2? S2 is an abbreviation of Sahara Surfers, which simply
  19. means us. We are:
  20.    Guru            Jarno Paananen          Amiga & PC coding
  21.    Stratos         Janne Oksanen           Graphics and Music
  22.    Alfred          Petteri Kangaslampi     PC coding
  23.    Switch          Teemu Kalvas            PC coding

  25. MIDAS Sound System (and MIDP as well) was coded by Alfred and
  26. Guru. In case you want to know who did what, here is a list:

  29.         * MIDAS main architechture
  30.         * Mixing routines (DSM)
  31.         * PAS, WSS and SB Sound Devices
  32.         * Most of MIDP itself
  33.  
  34. Guru:
  35.         * GUS and No Sound Sound Device
  36.         * Both Protracker and Scream Tracker 3 module players
  37.  
  38.         In addition to this, both of us periodically messed with
  39.         each other's code, usually effectively breaking it...

  43.         * Beta testing and bug reports

  46.         * Lots of music incompatible with all players except the
  47.           correct Protracker version.
